MitzvahReady is a program of Kol HaLev, a 501(c)(3) nonprofit religious organization based in Palm Beach County, Florida (EIN: 84-2125758). Kol HaLev's mission is to build joyous, meaningful Jewish life and study. MitzvahReady advances that mission directly: by bringing serious, personalized Jewish education to families who might never walk through a synagogue door. Tutoring fees support Kol HaLev's institutional costs — clergy, programming, and community gatherings — allowing us to keep our community events free and our doors open to all.
At MitzvahReady, we help families access meaningful bar and bat mitzvah preparation — regardless of how observant they are, whether they belong to a synagogue, or how long it's been since anyone in the house opened a prayer book. Our team of ordained rabbis, cantors, and Jewish educators has spent decades serving families across the country. We started MitzvahReady because we kept meeting the same family: proud to be Jewish, eager to give their child something lasting, but looking for something truly meaningful. This is where you begin. Rabbi David Siff has served as a pulpit Rabbi since 2006. He has a PhD in Kabbalah & Philosophy from JTS, where he wrote on the works of Rebbe Nahman of Breslav. He integrates music, drama, and arts into his work, as well as serious engagement with traditional texts, finding their relevance to contemporary society. He lives in Boynton Beach FL with his wife, Tanya, and 3 children.
Hannah Siff is a student at the University of Florida and has been teaching with MitzvahReady since 2025. She loves smoothie bowls, good movies, and her cats.

Who We're For
You don't have to be the most observant family on the block to want something real for your kid's bar or bat mitzvah. Most of the families we work with haven't been to synagogue in years — or ever. Some are interfaith. Some are just getting back in touch with something they grew up with and want to pass on. Some have no idea where to start and are a little nervous to admit it.
That's exactly who we built this for.
We started MitzvahReady because we kept running into the same family: proud to be Jewish, excited about the bar or bat mitzvah, but stuck. They didn't feel like they fit at a big synagogue. They weren't sure their kid was "Jewish enough." They didn't know how much Hebrew was expected, or whether the whole thing had to be religious, or whether they needed to join somewhere first. The answer to all of those questions, by the way, is: it's up to you. We'll figure it out together.
What We Actually Do
One hour a week, online, one-on-one with your child and an experienced teacher. No classroom, no keeping up with other kids, no pressure. We build the curriculum around what matters to your family — Hebrew reading, Torah, Jewish values, holidays and rituals — and we go at your child's pace.
Rabbi David Siff has a PhD in Kabbalah and Jewish Philosophy from the Jewish Theological Seminary and has been leading Jewish communities since 2006. He's also a father of three, which means he knows how to make this engaging for a 12-year-old who would rather be doing literally anything else. Our teacher Hannah Siff works with students who need a different energy — lighter, more conversational, more patient. Between the two of them, we've worked with kids across the full range: kids who pick up Hebrew in weeks, kids who need to go slowly, kids with learning differences, kids who are skeptical about the whole thing and end up loving it.
The Ceremony & Getting Started
If you want Rabbi Siff to officiate, he can do that. We've led ceremonies in synagogues, backyards, hotel ballrooms, and living rooms. We design the service around your family — how much Hebrew, how much English, how traditional, how personal. If you have a venue and a date and no idea what goes between them, we'll help you build something that actually means something. If you just want the preparation and you have your own rabbi or officiant, that works too.
